This April I will be running the Berlin half marathon! Here I said it and now it’s official. Jeez now there is no backing up.
Living in India I wasn’t a much of runner. I did some treadmill running every now and then. It was moving to Holland that got into running. About 4 years ago running 5k was a mental and physical challenge. And I must say I have come far from that. Now a sunday runs are 10 to 12k and I run at least 3 to 4 times a week. However, sometimes it’s difficult to keep with the schedule due to work.
I have never done anything like this… so I am excited and nervous at the same time. I have done some reading on this matter. Things like Fartleck, Tempo run, hills and interval runs are all new to me. I will share this journey with you. However if you guys would like to know anything specific then ask and I will share.
A big part of training for marathon is also what you wear. Some people tend to ignore this essential. But wearing the right gear can boost your performance and also keep you injury free. Recently I have tried and tested this new brand called doSport Live. The product looks amazing and delivers in all other aspects. For shoes you need something that can take on the long runs and as well outdoor conditions. I have been running on Nike Vemero for almost half a year and I absolutely love them. I will not getting into more details because I have tried a lot of different running shoes and everyones needs are different, so I will come back with a new post just for shoes and gear.
