 New year. New goal!

This April I will be running the Berlin half marathon! Here I said it and now it’s official. Jeez now there is no backing up.

Living in India I wasn’t a much of runner. I did some treadmill running every now and then. It was moving to Holland that got into running. About 4 years ago running 5k was a mental and physical challenge. And I must say I have come far from that. Now a sunday runs are 10 to 12k and I run at least 3 to 4 times a week. However, sometimes it’s difficult to keep with the schedule due to work.

I have never done anything like this… so I am excited and nervous at the same time. I have done some reading on this matter. Things like Fartleck, Tempo run, hills and interval runs are all new to me. I will share this journey with you. However if you guys would like to know anything specific then ask and I will share.

A big part of training for marathon is also what you wear. Some people tend to ignore this essential. But wearing the right gear can boost your performance and also keep you injury free. Recently I have tried and tested this new brand called doSport Live.  The product looks amazing and delivers in all other aspects. For shoes you need something that can take on the long runs and as well outdoor conditions. I have been running on Nike Vemero for almost half a year and I absolutely love them. I will not getting into more details because I have tried a lot of different running shoes and everyones needs are different, so I will come back with a new post just for shoes and gear.

I have always been a big fan of sports and active lifestyle. Today I want to narrate a story I created through these pictures. We are 2 very different people but share one thing in common… active lifestyle!

Athletes are not necessarily always the ones with athletic carrier. I believe it’s everyone who lives a committed and active lifestyle. I am not a professional athlete and I don’t have a carrier in sports. However, I still train 6 times a week and love my morning runs. I have never trained with wrong intentions of body goals or punishing myself for what I ate. I train because I love myself and have got addicted to see what my body is capable of. And If I happen to get the best abs during this process than why the hell not.

“Dancers are athletes of gods”

Meet Iara, a professional dancer and teacher. Who lives and breathes dance. She has the insane gymnastics that makes every move look so easy. Dance is a sport which takes strength and effort. For her dance is a way of living!

So don’t be fooled by all the glitter and fancy outfit it is still one of the hardest sport that only they can make it look easy.

Good morning lovers!

Hope you all had a great weekend. I have something to lighten up your monday morning. This post is extension of who I am. Hope you guys take the time to read my story.

Being a fitness junkie I love spending time in the gym.  I have a full time job, I try to work out twice a day and I am an upcoming blogger. If for some reason, I haven’t made it to the gym in two consecutive days than I am sure to be restless and agitated.

Well, it was about a year ago that I was struggling with my own self. There are times in life when you feel like you missing something. I am not going to shy away from saying this, I had a hard time adjusting to a new country with no friends. So I ended up investing most of my time in the gym. During my free time, I like to look for inspiration and new ways to work out.

I read and watched videos of Yoga poses and meditation techniques. Soon I was curious to start myself. Let me be honest. It wasn’t easy in the beginning. I have being working out for years and my body was nowhere close to being flexible. Failure can result to 2 things. 1-You gave up OR 2-You try harder. I practice yoga for balance, peace and connecting to my soul.

Yoga is not about how deep you can go into a posture, Its about who you are when you get there.

One of my favourite is Dancers pose. It is a real endorphin booster. It requires flexibility, strength, balance and grace. On an emotional level, it is a freedom-enhancing posture that calms the mind and helps to resolve fears of betrayal and abandonment. This pose is a real chest-opener and breaks down barriers around the heart chakra, creating more openness to giving and receiving love.

Life is a balance of holding on, and letting go…
