I am back with another series of “I take my own pictures”. It was born in summer of 2016 when I was extremely bored. I feel in this age of fast life/ fast everything nobody has the time to get bored anymore. Sometimes you have to find the time to get to this point and something will surface. It was a while ago that I got into this thing of self photography. Mostly because I had just started blogging and didn’t have anyone to take my pictures. I am no expert, but I go with the feeling of how and what I feel. So of course I am nervous to go public with them.

Let me know what you think!

Winter is finally here and we can now show our layering tricks. I love cold days for this! So who here loves wearing evening dresses for the day? Slip dresses are no m0re cult and everyone by now have tried this version. I would move away from the slip dresses and go on to something more bold. This winter bring out the glitter dress and layer the hell out of it for the day.

What to wear on Mondays: when you don’t feel like dressing up?

Is comfort dressing a thing. For me I like comfort dressing and it’s definitely my thing. Getting dress in the morning for work sometime can be messy. After all it’s a Monday! So on days like this let the comfort dressing be your thing however keep in mind to upgrade or add few fun elements like earrings, shoes etc. I have always liked jeans and sweater combo especially with some unexpected accessory.

First of all, those of you who know me will be a bit surprised to see me in all black. I am not really a “All black everything” kind of person. So for some this comes easily. Like I hear almost everyday here in Holland… I love wearing black, black is my colour. What’s surprising is when I see young teenagers say “I only wear all black”. Seriously, what happened to those days when you could commit any fashion blunders and blame it on “Oh I was young”. Isn’t this the time to experiment, be bold and refine your style.

My personal style has been through a lot of different phases. Now that I think of it, I try to replicate my emotions into my style. So I had my days of feeling rebellious and fierce too.

So coming back to all black everything. It’s not that I don’t like the colour black it’s just that I love other colours a lot too. I don’t see black as safe colour, I see it more classic and special! So today I am showing you guys a little version of  black outfit for a day/night out. I would still keep things interesting… like layering on black & black, different tones and texture.

It’s Autumn in the city and we are still thinking about last days of summer. It was only last week that we could still run around in our sundresses. After having such a good summer here in Holland, we can’t really complain about Autumn anymore.

Well for me, I will be soon packing my bag for Morocco. Jezz… I can’t wait! With few days left, I am almost done deciding what to take. For sure this Uzurii shoes are going with me. They are perfect for day and night look. If you looking for something unique and have love for Luxury than these shoes are for you.

Summer of 2016 is all about this little flower dress. They come in all colours and different prints. One dress that does it all. This summery, sexy and versatile piece can take you through anything… summer date nights, festival,  brunches and park chills. What I like the most about this dress is that it wraps around your waist and is flattering for almost all body type.

I wear this dress so much and so often that I am thinking of getting a second one with different print and colour 😉

So far I have used a good camera to take pictures for my blog. I personally believe that having a good camera is a long term investment. Well, here comes the funny store. The last time I had scheduled time for blog pictures, I forgot to take my camera with me. Haha… The most important thing and only thing to bring accept for myself.  Well, so we decided to put our iPhone photography skills to use and ended up creating these. Which btw I love so much!

So here you go:

1) Do not use flash for outdoor and day shooting.

2) Did you know that you can put your iPhone on HDR mood and shoot high quality pictures.

3) Set the focus on the main object. This is very important as you want you to be the centre of the image and everything else as a background. So tap on the phone screen yo find your focus and then shoot.

4) Use shadows in your pictures. I love shadows, I believe they add drama to the pictures.

5) Last but not least. If you don’t have a good camera then you have to play by one simple rule: Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. So keep your backgrounds simple. Doesn’t matter if your images look empty. It draws more attention to you and what you wearing.

Have a fabulous week everyone. We are so excited about this weeks beach weather. Woohoo!

Our guide to Roermond Designer outlet

So we went on a day trip to Roermond and here is our guide.

Plan your trip

It takes about 2 hours to get to Roermond with train or by car. So make sure you plan this on your day off and have all the time in the world to enjoy this little town. I would say do your share of research or get to know the brands and what to expect out of this trip. Check their website Roermond Designer outlet for brands and special offers.

How to get there?

I think taking a train is the best option. It’s a 2 hours train ride so make sure you have enough supplies of food, drinks and company. Be wise who you choose to go with because the ride is long and the outlet expedition is longer. So you don’t want to stuck with someone who is not going to enjoy shopping as much as you do.

Make a list and prioritise!

So once you get to Roermond you will be overwhelmed with the choices. This could lead to circling around and not knowing what to get. So I went with a plan. I knew I was looking for a bag and my first choice was Prada, which by the way was my final choice too 😉 . Anyhow, the point is know what you want and go through all the choices before you make that final call. So we first went to Prada and then Furla, Coach, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, Michael Kors and everything else.

Our favourite brands

Honestly, the outlets can some time be a bit of led down. Because all of them are not good enough. Thank us later but we are going to save you from the horror of not walking into everything. So our 10 favourites were Prada, Calvin Klein Underwear, Gucci, Coach, Furla, Michael Kors, Dolce & Gabbana, Body Shop, Levis & Nike. And 2 stores that really disappointed us were Tommy Hilfiger & Adidas.

We had such a good experience! We are sure going back 🙂

I wear my dress over jeans and I like it! Well, it took me while to say that. Some time a trend is just a trend, they would come and go. I have tried this combination a few times and now it’s safe to say “I fucking love it”! Trend or no trend, you would still see me wear this combination.

So if you suddenly fall in  love with this style, then head over to my previous blog post “How to wear dress over pants” where I am explaining everything you need to know about this trend.

“Don’t ever forget to dress for yourself first and the rest will follow.”

Who do you dress for? Most of you may think how hard it is to answer “myself” But really who do you dress for? Some people dress to please others and make them happy. I some time hear girls say  ” Oh my boyfriend wouldn’t like that” or “No he thinks I am weird when I dress like this .” Women should dress not for men, nor even for other women, but for themselves.

I loved playing dress up as a little girl and it never really stopped for me. I like to have fun with my outfits and be creative. In the last years I have developed a big crush on men T-shits and  shirts. I tend to wear them a lot. They are just so got damn comfortable and I feel really cool when I am comfy. So when he was giving away some T-shirts and shirts, I pounced on the pile and claimed some before anyone could get their hands on. I grew up with 3 other siblings, 2 elder sisters and 1 younger brother.  I use to find his clothes more interesting and occasionally steal haha… No borrow from him. I liked it then and I like it now. Looks like nothing has changed 🙂

We don’t have to be afraid to be ourselves. Don’t let men decide what’s sexy for you, decide for yourself. If you feel sexy and great in a pair of mom jeans. Wear it and don’t give a shit. If sneakers are your thing, wear them everywhere you go. If men could dress women then we all will be stuck in a body con dress forever. Haha.. and that’s my worst fear. Take it from the Icons like Diane Keaton, Chloë Sevigny, and Fran Lebowitz, these women had great sense of personal style and they did it without embracing body con fitted dresses.

And btw, these pictures are taken after work and I am wearing that men t-shirt I was talking about 🙂

Happy week girlies!
